Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb minced lamb (or beef)
- 1 cup medium oatmeal
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a kick)
- 4 tbsp beef stock
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then sauté onion until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add garlic and spices; cook until fragrant.
- In a large bowl, combine minced lamb, oatmeal, sautéed onion mixture, beef stock, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into patties, about 1/4 cup each and 3/4 inch thick.
- Cook the patties in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F).
Notes
- Use high-quality minced lamb for the best flavor.
- Don’t skip the spices for an authentic taste.
- Ensure the skillet is hot before adding the patties for a good sear.
- Avoid overcrowding the pan for even cooking.
- Rest the patties after cooking to allow flavors to meld.
