Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift powdered sugar and almond flour together into a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until frothy, then gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Divide meringue into bowls and add different food colorings to each, folding gently.
- Transfer each colored meringue into a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Pipe small circles onto prepared baking sheets.
- Tap sheets to release air bubbles and let sit for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until shells are set. Cool completely.
- Pair macaron shells with filling and assemble before serving.
