  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crispy French fries (fresh or frozen)
  • 4 burger buns, sliced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: pickles, bacon, lettuce

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in ground beef or turkey, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  2. Combine ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard in a small bowl to make the sauce.
  3. Layer half of the sliced burger buns in a greased baking dish. Spread cooked meat evenly over the buns. Drizzle with half of the sauce. Add a layer of crispy fries and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Repeat layers and top with remaining cheese.
  4. Bake in preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and cheese melts. Broil for 2-3 minutes for an extra crispy top, watching carefully.
