Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or turkey
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup crispy French fries (fresh or frozen)
- 4 burger buns, sliced
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: pickles, bacon, lettuce
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in ground beef or turkey, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- Combine ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard in a small bowl to make the sauce.
- Layer half of the sliced burger buns in a greased baking dish. Spread cooked meat evenly over the buns. Drizzle with half of the sauce. Add a layer of crispy fries and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Repeat layers and top with remaining cheese.
- Bake in preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and cheese melts. Broil for 2-3 minutes for an extra crispy top, watching carefully.
Notes
- feel free to add toppings like bacon or jalapeños for extra flavor
- use fresh or frozen fries as preferred, baking or frying until crispy
- for a spicier version, add hot sauce or sliced jalapeños
