Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

- In a separate bowl, beat softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add egg, molasses, and vanilla; mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until combined.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes.
- Place on prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
- Let cool before decorating with icing or enjoy as is.
