Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large yellow onion, finely diced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried dill
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh chives and parsley for garnish
- Celery sticks and tortilla chips for serving
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add diced onion and sauté until soft and golden (8–10 minutes). Let cool.
- In a bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, cooled onions, Parmesan, garlic powder, and dill. Stir until smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper. Chill for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
- Serve in a bowl, garnished with chopped chives and parsley. Arrange celery sticks and chips around the edge.
Notes
- For extra swampy texture, add a splodge of green food coloring (optional — Shrek would approve).
- Better yet, use caramelized onions for deeper flavor.
- Make ahead: keeps well covered in fridge for up to 3 days.
