Ingredients
Scale
- 200g high-quality dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher)
- 150g unsalted butter
- 3 large eggs
- 200g granulated sugar
- 100g all-purpose flour
- 50g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: black food coloring or activated charcoal (for a darker, villainous look)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Whisk the eggs and granulated sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the melted chocolate mixture, vanilla extract, and black food coloring or activated charcoal; stir to combine.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then fold into the wet ingredients until well incorporated.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the surface.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a more fudgy consistency, underbake slightly and cool before cutting.
- Add black gel food coloring or activated charcoal for an authentic black mask look.
- Wrap individually and freeze for longer storage; reheat briefly before serving.
