  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 brownies

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup butter (unsalted)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate frosting (for decoration)
  • Chocolate chips and candies (for Chewbacca’s features)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  2. Combine sugar with melted chocolate mixture, add eggs one at a time, and whisk in vanilla extract. In another bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
  3. Pour the brownie mixture into a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool before frosting.
  4. Once cooled, spread chocolate frosting over the brownies and decorate with chocolate chips and candies to create Chewbacca’s face.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For longer storage, refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • If substituting butter, consider using vegetable oil, but keep in mind it may alter the texture.
  • For an egg substitute, use unsweetened applesauce, mashed bananas, or flaxseed meal mixed with water.
