Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (high-quality)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 8 oz dark chocolate (70%), chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp butter (for ganache)
- Optional: edible gold dust for fur texture
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Whisk in cocoa powder until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until dissolved.
- Whisk in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
- Fold in flour and salt until just combined. Stir in walnuts.
- Pour batter into pan and bake 20–24 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool completely in pan on a wire rack.
- For ganache: heat heavy cream until steaming, pour over chopped dark chocolate. Let sit 2 minutes, then whisk until smooth. Stir in butter until glossy.
- Pour ganache over cooled brownies and spread evenly. Chill 30 min to set.
- For ‘fur’ curls: melt reserved dark chocolate, spread thin on parchment, dust with edible gold. Use a peeler to curl into thin strips. Sprinkle over top.
Notes
- For a deeper Wookiee vibe, dust edges with cocoa powder before garnishing.
- Use white chocolate curls for contrast or a ‘snow Wookiee’ twist.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days—bring to room temp before serving.
