A nostalgic, easy-to-make twist on grilled cheese—loaded with pizza fixings and grilled until golden and melty. Inspired by Hawkins favorite snacks.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick-cut bread (preferably sourdough or Italian)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped pepperoni
  • 2 tbsp marinara sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  2. On two slices, layer mozzarella, pepperoni, and a drizzle of marinara. Top with remaining bread, buttered side out.
  3. Cook 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  4. Mix oregano and garlic powder; sprinkle over toasties. Garnish with fresh basil.

  • For extra gooeyness, cover skillet with a lid while cooking for 1 minute.
