  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake)
  • 1 large egg (for cheesecake)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for cheesecake)
  • 1/2 cup crushed chocolate grahams or chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for topping)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • Red food coloring for drizzle

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix oil, sugar, eggs, vanilla, buttermilk, food coloring, and sour cream until smooth. Gradually fold in dry ingredients.
  4. Pour half the red velvet batter into the pan.
  5. Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Spoon dollops over batter and swirl with a knife.
  6. Pour remaining red velvet batter on top, then swirl again gently.
  7. Mix crushed chocolate graham crumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle over batter and press lightly.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until set. Cool completely, then chill for 2+ hours before slicing.
  9. Mix lemon juice and powdered sugar for glaze; add red food coloring. Drizzle over cooled bars.
