Ingredients
- Fresh figs (6-8 large ripe figs)
- Gorgonzola cheese (½ cup crumbled)
- Honey (2 tablespoons)
- Chopped walnuts (¼ cup)
- Fresh thyme leaves (optional, for garnish)
- Olive oil (for brushing)
- Black sesame seeds (for decoration, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly brush the fresh figs with olive oil and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake the figs for about 10 minutes until they soften slightly. Remove from oven and let cool.
- Mix crumbled gorgonzola cheese, honey, and chopped walnuts in a small bowl.
- Carefully cut a small slit in the top of each cooled fig and gently open. Stuff each fig with the cheese mixture.
- Optional: Garnish with fresh thyme leaves and sprinkle black sesame seeds to mimic Demogorgon’s features.
- Serve these spooky fig bites on a platter, perhaps alongside themed dishes for a complete horror-themed menu.
Notes
- Assemble the figs just before serving to prevent sogginess.
- Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
- You can prepare the cheese stuffing in advance and fill the figs right before serving.
- For vegan options, substitute gorgonzola with plant-based cheese alternatives.
