- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (assorted colors)
- Edible glitter and glow-in-the-dark stars
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl. In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla. Gradually add dry ingredients and milk, mixing until smooth.
- Divide batter into bowls and tint each with different food coloring.
- Pour batter into liners, filling 2/3 full. Bake for 18-20 minutes. Let cool completely.
- Decorate with brightly colored icing, edible glitter, and glow-in-the-dark stars to mimic festive lights.
Notes
- Use vibrant food coloring for a more striking light effect.
- Chill the decorated cupcakes for 30 minutes before serving to set the icing.
- Add extra glow-in-the-dark stars for more glow effect.
