Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bag of frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil for frying
Instructions
- Start by laying out your frozen tater tots on a clean kitchen countertop.
- In a large pot or deep fryer, heat enough oil to submerge the tater tots to about 375°F (190°C).
- Carefully add the tater tots to the hot oil, frying in batches for 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the tater tots from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate. While hot, sprinkle with cheddar cheese and garnish with green onions. Serve with sour cream for dipping!
Notes
- For extra crispy tater tots, ensure the oil is hot enough and avoid overcrowding the pot.
- You can use fresh grated potatoes to make homemade tater tots if preferred.
- These tater tots can also be prepared in an air fryer for a healthier option.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the oven or air fryer.
