Ingredients
Scale
- 4 high-quality beef steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or fillet)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for smoky flavor)
- Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs
- Butter (for basting)
Instructions
- Prepare the steaks: Remove from refrigerator and let them reach room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Season generously: Rub steaks with olive oil, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic, and fresh herbs.
- Preheat the grill: Heat grill to high (around 450°F or 232°C) for searing.
- Grill the steaks: Cook for 4-6 minutes per side for medium rare or adjust for desired doneness.
- Baste and rest: During the last minute, add butter and baste. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to check doneness: 125°F for rare, 135°F for medium rare, 145°F for medium, 160°F for well-done.
- Allow the steaks to rest before slicing to maintain juiciness.
- For extra flavor, add herbs or spices to the seasoning mix.
