- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix oil, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring.
- Gradually add wet ingredients to dry, mixing until just combined.
- Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before frosting.

- Use gel food coloring for vibrant red color.
- Chill cupcakes before decorating for best results.
