Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 200g Turkish delight, chopped
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- Optional: edible gold leaf for decoration
Instructions
- Start by mixing all-purpose flour and powdered sugar in a large bowl. Add the cold, cubed butter and rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Knead gently until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into tart circles. Press into tart molds, prick the bottoms with a fork, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and cool on a wire rack.
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until simmering. Add the chopped Turkish delight and stir until melted and smooth. In a bowl, whisk the corn starch with a little cold water, then add to the mixture to thicken. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Spoon the Turkish delight filling into the cooled tart shells. Smooth the tops with a spatula. Optional: Decorate with edible gold leaf to add a touch of Narnia magic.
- Refrigerate the assembled tarts for at least 1 hour to set. Serve chilled or at room temperature, and enjoy the magical taste of these movie treats inspired by the charming world of Narnia.
