Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring for themed designs (red, blue, black)
- Chocolate chips or sprinkles for added flair
- Optional: edible markers for details
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your donut pans lightly or spray with non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into a piping bag or a plastic zip-top bag with the tip cut off for easy filling.
- Fill each donut mold about 3/4 full. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Once cooled, prepare icing or glaze with food coloring to match detective themes. Decorate with sprinkles, edible markers, or piping gel to add detective symbols, magnifying glasses, or badges.
