- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- Prepare the Graham Cracker Crust: Combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar in a medium bowl. Press into the pie dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes until golden. Let cool.
- Make the Creamy Custard: Whisk together milk, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until thick. Temper egg yolks with hot milk mixture, then return to the pan and cook until smooth. Stir in butter and vanilla and cool slightly.
- Assemble the Pie: Layer sliced bananas over the cooled crust, pour half the custard, then repeat with bananas and remaining custard. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Add the Whipped Cream Topping: Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Spread over chilled pie and garnish as desired. Serve immediately or keep refrigerated.

- Use ripe but firm bananas for the best flavor and texture.
- Cool the crust completely to prevent sogginess.
