- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Fondant (various colors)
- Edible food paint and markers
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla. Gradually add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
- Divide batter into pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool completely.
- Level cakes and stack with frosting between layers. Cover the entire cake with a crumb coat and chill.
- Use fondant to create Ellie’s backpack, guitar, graffiti tags, and other themed decorations. Attach with edible glue.

- Use gel food colors for vibrant fondant decorations.
- Chill the cake before applying detailed fondant decor for easier handling.
