Ingredients
Scale
- 4 fresh fish fillets (such as trout or bass)
- biodegradable edible leaves (such as grape leaves or banana leaves)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh herbs (dill, parsley, or basil)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: thinly sliced vegetables (carrots, bell peppers)
Instructions
- Start by patting the fish fillets dry and seasoning them lightly with salt and black pepper.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, chopped herbs, and lemon slices. Brush this marinade over the fish fillets evenly, and let sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Rinse the edible leaves thoroughly and blanch grape leaves if needed to make them pliable. Dry them carefully.
- Place each fish fillet on a leaf, add vegetable slices if desired, then carefully fold the leaf around the fish to create a parcel. Secure with toothpicks if necessary.
- Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Place the wrapped fish on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for approximately 20-25 minutes until the fish is opaque and cooked through.
- Remove from oven, carefully unwrap the leaves, and serve on a rustic platter with lemon wedges and fresh herbs.
Notes
- Ensure fish fillets are fresh for best flavor and texture.
- Blanch grape leaves briefly to make them more pliable.
- You can add sliced vegetables for extra color and flavor.
- Secure the wrapping with toothpicks for ease of handling.
