Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package of cream cheese (8 oz), softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives (for spiders and decorations)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 packet taco seasoning or seasoned chili powder
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Black food coloring or squid ink (optional, for dark web effect)
- Tortilla chips or sliced vegetables for dipping
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and taco seasoning. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
- If you want a darker web appearance, add a few drops of black food coloring or a small amount of squid ink to the mixture and stir well.
- Transfer the mixture to a serving dish and spread evenly.
- Using a piping bag or plastic sandwich bag with the tip cut off, pipe concentric circles of sour cream or a contrasting dip over the surface, creating the spiderweb pattern.
- Take a toothpick or skewer and gently draw lines from the center outward to complete the web effect.
- Decorate the web with sliced black olives to resemble spiders or tiny web spiders, and sprinkle chopped green onions for extra color.
- Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of green.
Notes
- For a more intense web look, use black food coloring or squid ink cautiously to achieve a dark web effect.
- Prepare the base mixture a day ahead and assemble the web just before serving for best presentation.
- Feel free to add edible glitter or plastic spiders for extra spooky decoration.
