  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sausage rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder or additional spices as desired

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, dried basil, oregano, finely chopped onion, and fresh parsley. Season with salt and pepper, and mix well.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut into 4×10 inch rectangles. Place the sausage mixture in the center of each rectangle and seal the edges.
  3. Transfer the rolls onto a parchment-lined baking tray, brushing the tops with a beaten egg.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Leftover sausage rolls can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
  • Serve with mustard or honey as a dipping sauce for added flavor.
  • For a healthier option, substitute ground sausage with ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based sausage.
