Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (blue, gray, black) — for decorating the spaceship interior and exterior
- Edible silver or metallic food paint (optional, for spaceship detailing)
- Assorted candies or icing for cockpit controls and spaceship features
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until creamy and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two parts. Use food coloring to tint one part blue for interior details and the other gray or black for the spaceship exterior.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Use spaceship or specific cockpit cookie cutters to cut out the shapes. For added detail, shape some cookies into cockpit controls or panel designs.
- Arrange the cutouts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool completely before decorating.
Notes
- Decorate with edible metallic paints for a shiny spaceship effect.
- Use small candies or icing details to mimic cockpit controls and buttons.
- Try different coloring for various spaceship models or space themes.
