Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips to add richness and a gooey texture.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour batter into a greased 9-inch square pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- For extra crunch, fold in chopped nuts such as walnuts or pecans before baking.
- These brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 days, refrigerated for up to a week, or frozen for up to 3 months.
- If you prefer fluffier brownies, do not overmix after adding dry ingredients and slightly underbake.
