Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: pickles, bacon, Krusty-O’s cereal for garnish

Instructions

  1. Divide ground beef into four equal portions and shape into patties.
  2. Heat skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side.
  3. In the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese to melt.
  4. Toast buns lightly and spread mayonnaise on the top bun and ketchup and mustard on the bottom bun.
  5. Add lettuce, tomato, and red onion to the bottom bun, then place the cheese-topped patty on top.
  6. Finish with the top bun and add garnishes as desired.
