Ingredients
Scale
- 2 racks of pork ribs (preferably baby back or spare ribs)
- 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: Grilled vegetables or coleslaw
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Alternatively, prepare the ribs on a grill or smoker for added smoky flavor.
- Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs. Rub the ribs generously with a mixture of salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil, then cover tightly with foil to lock in moisture.
- Bake in the oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours until tender. For extra tenderness, delay removing the foil.
- Once cooked, brush the ribs generously with BBQ sauce mixed with honey and brown sugar for a sticky glaze.
- Optional: Finish on the grill over medium-high heat for 5 minutes per side, basting with more BBQ sauce for a charred finish.
Notes
- For extra flavor, baste the ribs with additional BBQ sauce during the last few minutes of grilling or baking.
- Allow the ribs to rest for 10 minutes before slicing for juicier results.
- Using a meat thermometer ensures perfect tenderness; target an internal temperature of 190°F.
