Ingredients
Scale
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 4 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagna noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, drain and lay flat.
- Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in a skillet until fragrant. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in tomato sauce and Italian seasoning; let simmer for 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, three lasagna noodles, half of ricotta cheese, mozzarella, and more meat sauce. Repeat layers and finish with noodles, meat sauce, and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil (sprayed to prevent sticking) and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 25 minutes until cheese is bubbly. Let cool for 10 minutes, garnish with fresh basil, and serve.
