Ingredients
Scale
- 3 packs of unflavored gelatin (vegetarian optional)
- 4 cups boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- Food coloring gels in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet
- Sugar (optional, based on taste)
- Fresh fruit or edible glitter for decoration (optional)
- Clear plastic or glass pan for layering
Instructions
- Dissolve one packet of unflavored gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add a few drops of food coloring for the first layer and pour into your pan. Chill until set, about 30 minutes.
- Repeat with each different color gelatin packet, allowing each layer to fully set before adding the next. Pour slowly and gently to prevent mixing.
- Continue layering rainbow colors—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet—chilling each until firm between pours.
- Once all layers are set, optionally add edible glitter or fresh fruit in between layers for extra sparkle and flavor. Decorate the top with edible stars or sprinkles for a shimmering effect.
Notes
- Ensure each layer is fully set before adding the next for sharp, vibrant separation.
- You can add edible glitter or fruit between layers for extra visual appeal and flavor.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days for best freshness.
