- 1 1/2 cups root beer
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- Golden sugar dust for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a saucepan, bring 1 cup root beer to a simmer. Mix sugar and cornstarch in a bowl, then whisk into the simmering root beer.
- Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour filling into the pre-made pie crust, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until crust is golden and filling is set.
- Let cool completely, then dust with golden sugar dust before serving.
Notes
- Chill the pie for at least 2 hours before serving for best texture.
- You can substitute sparkling root beer for a fizzy texture.
