- 1 cup black sesame seeds
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Toast the black sesame seeds in a dry skillet until fragrant, then grind into a fine powder using a mortar and pestle.
- In a saucepan, combine milk, cream, sugar, honey, and vanilla. Warm over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Add the sesame powder to the milk mixture, stirring well to incorporate.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
- Churn in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer instructions until creamy and thickened.
- Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a stronger sesame flavor, add an extra tablespoon of toasted sesame paste during blending.
