Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (3 oz) box raspberry-flavored gelatin
- 1 (3 oz) box lemon-flavored gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup hot water (separate)
- 1/2 cup unflavored gelatin (1 envelope)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional, for sweetness)
- Vodka (1/2 cup, approximately 30% total volume)
- Edible glitter or luster dust (blue or silver)
- Clear shot glasses (8–10)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan, heat 1/2 cup hot water until near-boiling. Add bloomed gelatin and stir until fully dissolved. Remove from heat.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve raspberry-flavored gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until fully clear.
- Whisk the bloomed gelatin mixture into the raspberry gelatin. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water, then carefully stir in vodka (do not overmix).
- For a subtle swirl, reserve 2 tablespoons of the mixture and mix with lemon-flavored gelatin dissolved in 1/2 cup boiling + 1/2 cup cold water. Swirl gently into main mixture using a toothpick.
- Pour evenly into shot glasses, leaving ~1/4 inch at top.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
- Just before serving, lightly dust tops with edible glitter for a neon grid effect.
Notes
- For stronger shots, increase vodka to 3/4 cup, reducing cold water to maintain set.
- Use a black surface or dark backdrop for best visual contrast under blacklight.
- For glow effect, serve under UV blacklight—these shots will shimmer brilliantly.
- Optional: Use a small LED light under the tray for extra dramatic glow.
