- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into cubes
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for gravy)
- 2 cups milk (for gravy)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cut in 1/2 cup of cold butter until resembling coarse crumbs.
- Gradually stir in 3/4 cup of milk until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, knead gently and roll out to 1-inch thick. Cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a skillet, cook 1 pound of breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat, leaving 2 tablespoons in the skillet.

- Stir the mixture until thickened, season with salt and pepper, and simmer to enhance flavor.
- Bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve the split biscuits topped with creamy sausage gravy.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the gravy with your favorite herbs and spices for added flavor.
- For a lighter version, you can use reduced-fat turkey sausage.
- Biscuits are best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
