Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, and black food coloring or activated charcoal until well combined.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Heat a griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease.
- Pour 1/4 cup batter for each pancake, cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden.
- Serve stacked with dark syrup and gothic garnishes.
Notes
- Use activated charcoal for authentic black color without overpowering flavor.
