Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until just combined.
- Drop dough onto prepared baking sheets using a cookie scoop, spacing evenly.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely on wire racks.
- In a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, melt chocolate chips until smooth.
- Mix powdered sugar with milk and vanilla to create white icing. Divide into two bowls, tint one black with food coloring if desired.
- Spread half of each cookie with white icing and the other half with dark chocolate icing. Allow to set before serving.
