- 8 slices rye bread
- 1 lb thinly sliced pastrami
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup spicy mustard
- 1/2 cup sauerkraut (optional)
- Butter for toasting
Instructions
- Lay slices of rye bread and spread with butter on one side.
- Layer pastrami, lettuce, and mustard on the bread slices.
- Add sauerkraut if desired.
- Top with another slice of bread and cut into halves or quarters.
- Arrange on a platter and serve with pickle spears.
Notes
- You can substitute turkey or roast beef for pastrami if preferred.
- For a warm sandwich, lightly toast or grill after assembling.
