- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup (preferably Canadian maple syrup)
- 6 slices of crispy bacon, chopped
- Optional: vanilla extract or cinnamon for extra flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or prepare a deep-fryer with oil heated to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and maple syrup.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold the chopped crispy bacon into the batter gently to distribute evenly.
- For baked donuts: Spoon the batter into a greased donut pan and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- For fried donuts: Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- While donuts are still warm, dip them into a glaze made from powdered sugar, a splash of milk, and a generous amount of maple syrup.
- Place the glazed donuts on a wire rack to set. For extra flavor, sprinkle with additional bacon crumbles or cinnamon.

- Can be baked or fried depending on your preference.
