- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- Red, blue, and gold food coloring
- Buttercream frosting (preferably homemade for vibrant color)
- Chocolate ganache (for a rich trench effect)
- Edible gold dust (for a regal touch)
- Stars and emblem-shaped cake toppers (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool completely on wire racks.
- Trim the cakes if necessary to level the layers.
- Apply a layer of buttercream between the layers, then cover the entire cake with a vibrant red or blue buttercream to mimic Wonder Woman’s colors.
- Use royal or buttercream frosting to add gold accents, stars, or her iconic emblem.
- Pour a rich chocolate ganache over the cake to resemble the trench or battlefield scene.
- Sprinkle edible gold dust to add a heroic, shiny finish.
- Finish with themed toppers or edible images related to Wonder Woman.
Notes
- Ensure the cakes are completely cooled before frosting to prevent melting.
- Use vibrant food coloring to achieve authentic Wonder Woman colors.
- Chill the decorated cake for 30 minutes to set the frosting before serving.
