- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup (65 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (64 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 inch square baking pan with parchment.
- In a saucepan or microwave, melt butter. Stir in sugar until glossy. Let cool slightly.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder; stir until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using. Spread batter evenly in pan.
- Bake 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely and slice into 12 bars.
Notes
- Let brownies cool fully before slicing for clean edges.
- Dust with a light cocoa powder to evoke Chewbacca fur.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
