- 2 pounds ground lamb
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef stock
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F (200C).
- Brown lamb with onion and garlic, then add carrots and peas.
- Stir in tomato paste, stock, and Worcestershire; simmer 15 minutes.
- Spread mashed potatoes over filling; dot with butter and rough the surface with a fork.
- Bake 25-30 minutes until top is golden and filling is bubbling.
Notes
- Substitute lamb with beef if preferred
- Top with mashed potatoes and a dash of paprika for color
- Assemble ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours
