- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup kidney beans, rinsed
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 cups prepared cornbread, cut into squares
- 12 mini slider buns
- 1 lb sliced deli turkey or chicken (optional)
- 2 cups popcorn kernels
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 quart apple cider
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil and sautΓ© onion and garlic until translucent. Add ground beef, crumble and cook until browned.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika. Simmer 20β25 minutes. Season to taste.
- Prepare cornbread squares per package instructions if not pre-made; keep warm.
- Toast slider buns and assemble with optional meat and cheddar; melt cheese briefly under a broiler.
- Pop popcorn; melt butter and toss with popcorn for a savory snack toss.
- Serve chili with cornbread squares, sliders, popcorn, and chilled apple cider. Garnish as desired.

- Make chili ahead and reheat for faster serving.
- For a lighter version, use turkey or lean ground beef.
