- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fig jam or fig preserves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla until combined.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon; add to butter mixture until just combined.
- Scoop dough, flatten, place a small spoonful of fig jam in the center, and enclose to form a disk.
- Bake 12–14 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on a rack.
Notes
- Chill dough 30 minutes for easier handling.
- Use seedless fig jam for a smooth center.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
