- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 300 g pork sausage meat
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 egg, beaten (for glaze)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: sesame seeds for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
- In a pan, sauté onion until translucent; cool slightly.
- Mix sausage meat with onion, garlic, parsley, thyme, paprika, Dijon, salt, and pepper.
- Roll out puff pastry, spread filling into a log shape, roll and seal.
- Brush with beaten egg; sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
- Cut into 2-4 cm slices; place on baking sheet.
- Bake 25 minutes until golden and cooked through. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, use seasoned mushroom or veggie sausage in puff pastry.
- Best served warm with mustard or chutney.
- Can be frozen before baking; bake from frozen 3-5 minutes longer.
