- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (28 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup (90 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup (45 g) toasted shredded coconut, for fur topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line with parchment.
- Melt butter; whisk in sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla.
- Sift in cocoa powder, then stir in flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips. <li id="instruction-step-4" Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake 20–25 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
- Optional: sprinkle toasted coconut over top and dust with a little cocoa to mimic Chewbacca fur.
Notes
- For fudgy texture, slightly underbake by 2 minutes and let finish set in the pan.
- Toast coconut until light golden for best fur texture.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for longer storage.
