Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
- Whisk dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla; divide and add matcha powder if using to tint one portion.
- Combine wet and dry mixtures until just blended; pour into pan and bake 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely, spread jam as a filling, then frost with buttercream and decorate with sprinkles.
- Chill briefly to set frosting and slice to serve.
