Instructions
- In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly until thickened and glossy, about 6-8 minutes.
- Remove from heat; whisk in butter and vanilla until glossy.
- Divide into serving dishes and refrigerate at least 1 hour until set.
- Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings before serving, if desired.
