- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 6 mini hot dogs, sliced into bite-sized rounds
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Cook macaroni according to package until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a pot, melt butter, whisk in flour to form a light roux for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in milk, cook until thickened, then stir in cheddar until smooth.
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika; fold in mini hot dogs.
- Toss with pasta; if sauce is thick, loosen with a splash of pasta water.
