- 4 medium apples, cored
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup apple juice or water
- Optional: vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice tops off apples and core; mix filling ingredients: oats, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, nuts, raisins.
- Stuff apples with filling; place in baking dish; pour juice around apples.
- Bake 25-30 minutes until tender, baste halfway.
- Serve warm with ice cream or yogurt.
Notes
- Use firm apples such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for best texture.
- Adjust spices to taste.
- Leftovers keep covered in fridge 2-3 days.
